DUBAI: Vindico, the Middle East’s leading retail delivery specialists, has been appointed as retail delivery design and management consultants on Riverland™ Dubai, part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, which is set to be the region’s largest integrated theme park destination on its opening in October 2016.
Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DFM: DUBAIPARKS) is developing the AED 10.5 billion (USD 2.9 billion) integrated theme park resort over 25 million square feet hosting three theme parks and a water park, including the region’s first LEGOLAND®. Riverland™ Dubai is a retail, dining and entertainment walkway for both local residents and theme park guests.
Klaus Assmann, Vice President Hospitality & Retail for Dubai Parks and Resorts says, “Riverland™ Dubai will be at the centre of the Dubai Parks and Resorts destination, with all guests passing through it as part of their visit. As the gateway to the destination, the layout, design and management of the outlets has to be a pleasurable experience for our visitors. We are very confident and optimistic about our partnership with Vindico, and have full trust in their expertise and capabilities to execute this mission flawlessly.”

“We are excited to join the team for another of Dubai’s world class development projects”, said Vindico Sales Director, Scott Strader. “Dubai Parks and Resorts understands how important it is to have the retail and, particularly, dining offers available to its visitors on opening day. We are pleased that our integrated retail delivery strategy, design and management solution was chosen to help make the Riverland™ Dubai vision a reality.”
Riverland™ Dubai will be the gateway to the Dubai Parks and Resorts destination, however it is also designed as a destination in its own right. Four unique zones – The French Village, Boardwalk, India Gate, and The Peninsula will make up the dining, retail and entertainment destination which will be free for all to visit. The wide range of dining and shopping on offer, coupled with the planned street theatre and entertainment, will make it the perfect place for families and friends to come together and meet, relax and recharge.
Vindico’s Dubai Studio is creating the retail design guidelines, technical criteria and space drawings for use by tenants and brands in submitting design proposals into Vindico’s review and approval processes. An on‐site management team will interface between tenants, the developer, contractors and local authorities inside a coordinated programme.
Senior Retail Delivery Manager Nihad Muzamil, a member of Vindico’s Middle East team since 2007, and Project Lead for Riverland™ Dubai, said: “We have hit the ground running ahead of the October 2016 opening date and started briefing tenants and their teams, many of whom we have worked with on other properties. Having working relationships with retailers and brands allows us to move quickly, and more collaboratively, toward everyone’s goal of getting shops and restaurants open and earning, on time.”
Dubai Parks and Resorts will feature motiongate™ Dubai – a movie based theme park showcasing some of Hollywood’s most beloved characters from DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Studios and Lionsgate as well as the region’s first LEGOLAND® Park and a LEGOLAND® Water Park. Committed to bringing together the best of the East and West, Dubai Parks and Resorts will also feature Bollywood Parks™ Dubai, the first theme park based on the sights and sounds of Bollywood. The entire destination will be connected by Riverland™ Dubai – a retail, dining and entertainment walkway and guests can stay at the Lapita™ Hotel, a Polynesian-themed resort catering to families.
