Vindico has been appointed to deliver the retail for the world’s first nature inspired shopping destination, Cityland Mall in Dubai, a 350-unit retail development project incorporating a 200,000 square foot central park area.
“We are pleased to have a strategic retail professional of Vindico’s calibre come on board, as we strengthen our focus on retailers and on creating exciting shopping experiences for our visitors,” comments Fahimuddin Sharfuddin, Chief Executive Officer, Cityland Group. “The Vindico team are playing a pivotal role by maintaining a continuous dialogue with tenants to ensure the timely completion of their fit-out works.”
Vindico has been appointed to provide a retail delivery content, design, management and onsite solution to the Cityand Mall retail development in Dubai.
The retail delivery solution for Cityland includes all four of Vindico’s products – Content, Design, Manage and OnSite, inside a flexible service level agreement that accommodates development risk and protects client value on a large scale retail project.
“Cityland have embraced our productised and unitcentric approach to creating a retail delivery solution that reflects their specific needs,” comments Vindico Managing Director, Richard Kim. “Their vision of creating a nature inspired destination to define and differentiate Cityland is supported by our focus on the fundamentals in a shopping and dining experience – shops and restaurants that are open.”
Cityland features a 200,000 square foot ‘central park’ to create a world-first nature inspired experience that supports its 350 shops and restaurants.
The 1.2 million square foot scheme will be anchored by Carrefour Hypermarket, operated by Majid Al Futtaim Retail, a VOX Cinema complex and Scandinavian home furnishing brand JYSK.
Vindico’s project lead at Cityland, Senior Retail Delivery Manager Kayleigh Pullinger, is coordinating Vindico’s studio and site teams. “We have started to build traction in our engagement with Cityland’s tenants and their teams, many of whom we have worked with before, so we are familiar with each others’ people and processes.”
“The freedom of not being locked into a site based solution allows our retail delivery design and manage teams to integrate more effectively, and for the tenant and brand designers, many of whom are located across the region and in other countries, to be more efficient in how they engage with us. As the focus shifts to handing over units and coordinating fitout works, we can match the size of our site team to the number of tenants actually on site.”
